A Highly Experienced and Accredited Online Therapist

We have all come through difficult time with Covid, where we may have become isolated within ourselves, it is natural to feel stressed, anxious, depressed or low in mood.

Now more than ever it is important for us to look after our mental health so that we can all emerge from this period with more self-awareness and with a better level of psychological balance.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, it is important to recognise your struggle and give it credence. Anxiety and insomnia along with depression and low mood may be writhe, but I am here to provide a treatment that has a proven track record of recovery. I am currently working with Adults and Teenagers.

If you'd like to talk about what is troubling you or see how my therapeutic techniques can be adapted to your needs, I offer a completely free and confidential 15 minutes introduction over the phone or by video call.

"I have made so many positive changes since seeing Sandy and although we had to work online, her way of working was really effective. EMDR has resolved the issues that were causing me so much distress, things that I hadn't even considered could be causing me problems. This has enabled me to look at my problems differently, with a clearer mind and make decisions as to the best way to solve them, rather than just getting caught in a loop of stress and anxiety."
Micheal 32 - Herne Bay 2021

I have been a practising counsellor in Kent for sixteen years years and a fully trained and Accredited EMDR Therapist and qualified Clinical Supervisor for six years. I incorporate various areas of Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) with most of my clients, which I believe alleviates the symptoms of traumatic distress. I bring in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) into my work to help my clients gain an awareness of how their thoughts, feelings and behaviours are interlinked, giving them power to change things.

I am trained as an integrative Counsellor and am Accredited & Registered with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and am also an Accredited Member of the EMDR Association UK & Ireland. I have a breadth of experience as a counsellor, mentor and a lecturer, where I have worked in education, within the NHS and with The Priory Group. I am now continuing my work within my private practice. I offer a private confidential service completely online, open to all ages and cultures.

    How I Treat My Clients

I will often use EMDR to treat the root causes of their issues in conjunction with CBT to help them to alleviate their present day symptoms.

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy which has been recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a first-choice treatment for Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. EMDR also addresses traumatic and stressful experiences underlying an individual’s life history that have resulted in the anxiety and depression that they are feeling now.

Before entering therapy with me most clients are unaware of how their past has caused their present day distress. So, initially our work is to piece that together, to make links and to help you make sense of why and how you are functioning today.

I aim for my clients to leave with an ability to:
    •Avoid repeating past mistakes .
•Develop more curiosity, openness and acceptance as tools for positive change.
•Become more accepting and compassionate with themselves and others.
•Manage anxiety and stress quickly and constructively.

What Can Therapy Do For You?

When you invest in yourself and commit to regular sessions with a highly experienced therapist that provides empathetic and thoughtful support, you are:
•Deepening your ability to connect with yourself.
•Gradually finding ways of living a fuller life that are achievable.
•Developing your ability to connect with others.

Working therapeutically in this way helps you recognise your inner strengths, providing you with the tools and strategies with which you can fulfil your dreams for the future.

"I have been seeing Sandy for a little over nine months, after she was recommended to me by my weight loss consultant. I had been suffering from very bad depression and anxiety for a number of years and no pills seemed to help me. She is so approachable and I felt at ease with her straight away. Her techniques have been surprisingly effective, I have been able to open up with her, face my problems and heal. Her openness gradually helped me to feel more positive and I am now able to look to at a much brighter future."
    Marie 49 - Dartford 2019
